Tyler DesRoches to seek PC nomination in Summerside-Wilmot

Summerside, PE - District 21 resident and former Summerside City Councillor Tyler DesRoches is seeking the Progressive Conservative nomination for District 21, Summerside-Wilmot.

“I live, work, volunteer and raise my family in our community. Our community is growing so we need to make sure that our infrastructure like our housing, hospitals, schools and roads keep up with that growth. I am running because I feel I can accomplish more for Summerside-Wilmot as a member of a Dennis King PC government,” says DesRoches.

A graduate of Three Oaks High School, the University of Prince Edward Island, and the PEI Fire School, DesRoches represented Ward 8 (Wilmot) on Summerside City Council from 2014 to 2018, serving as the municipal liaison to the PEI Sports Hall of Fame and the Prince County Horsemen's Club. As Chair of the Community Services Committee Desroches oversaw the installation of a solar farm at Credit Union Place, the development of a community splash park, and Summerside’s first fully accessible playground at Billy Bridges Park.

Desroches is a Lieutenant with the Summerside Fire Department and has served as a member for twenty years. DesRoches is active in local sports having served as a minor hockey coach, as President of the Prince County Horsemen’s Club and is involved in the harness racing industry as an owner, trainer and driver.

“Summerside-Wilmot needs to be represented in a new Dennis King PC government to make the most of our opportunities to benefit the people of Summerside-Wilmot. I’m ready to get to work,” says DesRoches.

DesRoches works in the aerospace sector and lives on Read Drive in Summerside with his spouse Jillian and daughter Olivia.
