Premier Dennis King to seek re-election in Brackley-Hunter River

Brookfield, PE - Today, Premier Dennis King announced that he is seeking re-election for District 15, Brackley-Hunter River, in the next provincial election.

“I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished for Islanders over the last four years during some of the most difficult times in our province's history. I’m even prouder of the resilience shown by Islanders as we chart a bold path to a brighter future for our province,” says King.

First elected in 2019, King has served as Premier, President of the Executive Council, and Minister responsible for Intergovernmental Affairs, Acadian and Francophone Affairs, and Indigenous Relations.

"It's been a privilege to serve the residents of District 15 over the last four years," said Premier Dennis King. "I will continue to work hard to earn the trust of the residents of the great people who call District 15 home as we continue to work to make our communities stronger and our province better."

Premier King has led the province through major events such as hurricanes, rail blockades, trade disruptions and a global pandemic. King pointed to several achievements in office such as initiatives to improve access to health care and increase the affordability of prescription drugs; providing a province-wide hot healthy school lunch program; programs to reduce our carbon footprint; significant investments in schools and reducing the cost of childcare; and targeted measures to lower the cost of living for Islanders.

“I’m exceptionally pleased by the tremendous calibre of candidates that have come forward to represent our party. Islanders from all walks of life and different paths who are pillars in their communities. That excites me about the future for our province,” says King.

Dennis and his wife Jana are proud parents of Jacob, Camdyn, and Callum and live in Brookfield.

The District 15 PC nomination will be held on Monday, March 6th, at Winsloe United Church with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., and the nomination starting at 7:00 p.m.
