Kirk MacKinnon to seek PC nomination in Mermaid-Stratford

Stratford, PE - Stratford resident Kirk MacKinnon today announced his intention to seek the Progressive Conservative nomination for District 5, Mermaid-Stratford, in the next provincial election.

I am a big believer in Premier King and in the direction his government is setting for our province and I want to be part of the change representing Mermaid-Stratford in a new Dennis King PC government,” says MacKinnon.

MacKinnon is a well known fixture on Island airwaves having worked in radio broadcasting for 36 years, most recently as the long time co-host of the Ocean 100 Morning Show with Stingray Broadcasting. MacKinnon has also worked as a sports announcer with the Athletics Department of the University of Prince Edward Island.

I’m going to work hard to earn the support of Stratford residents, and I plan on working even harder to support them as their MLA. We need new schools, baseball fields, and a new rink and it will be easier to advocate for those in a new Dennis King PC government,” says MacKinnon.

Kirk and his wife Katie are heavily involved in the community, and Kirk has been involved with Stratford Minor Baseball, Pownal Minor Hockey Association and more thanks to their blended family of six children.
