Hilton MacLennan to seek PC nomination in Tyne Valley – Sherbrooke

Port Hill, PE - Port Hill resident Hilton MacLennan today announced that he is seeking the Progressive Conservative nomination for District 23, Tyne Valley – Sherbrooke, in the upcoming provincial election.

“When the pandemic hit Premier Dennis King and his team were there for us. When our primary industries faced challenges during the last four years Premier Dennis King and his team had their back. When we lost our rink Premier Dennis King and his team helped our community rebuild even better. That’s the kind of government that I want to be a part of,” said MacLennan.

A third generation dairy farmer, MacLennan was born and raised in Port Hill and farmed for over 40 years with his family. MacLennan currently works with Port Hill Transport and as the Manager of the O’Leary Co-op Feed Mill and Retail Store.

MacLennan is a member of the Bideford United Church Pastoral Charge, serving in many different leadership roles over the years. MacLennan is a former member of the Stewart Memorial Foundation and the Tyne Valley Minor Hockey Association, serving for many years as a minor hockey coach. MacLennan is also a past member of the Friends of Stewart Memorial Hospital, and a past member of the Tyne Valley Community Sports Center board. In 2017, he was awarded Citizen of the Year by the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival.

“Our district is made up of rural and urban communities and it was built by farmers, fishers, shellfishers, small and large business owners, and workers. We need to continue to develop more affordable housing options in Summerside and the surrounding communities and with my business and life experience, I feel that I can be a strong advocate for the residents of Tyne Valley-Sherbrooke as part of a new Dennis King PC government,” says MacLennan.

MacLennan and his wife Marlene have two adult children, Melanie and Adam, and have three grandchildren.
