Tyler DesRoches is a graduate of Three Oaks High School and the University of Prince Edward Island. DesRoches represented Ward 8 (Wilmot) on Summerside City Council from 2014 to 2018, serving as the municipal liaison to the PEI Sports Hall of Fame and chairing the Community Services Committee which oversaw the installation of a solar farm at Credit Union Place and the development of a community splash park.


Tyler has been a volunteer firefighter with the Summerside Fire Department since 2003 and is active in local sports, having served as a minor hockey coach and as past Secretary-Treasurer of the Prince County Horsemen’s Club. DesRoches is also actively involved in the harness racing industry as an owner, trainer and driver.


He also works in the aerospace sector and lives on Read Drive in Summerside with his spouse Jillian and daughter Olivia.
