Bloyce Thompson Seeking District 8 Nomination

Dairy farmer Bloyce Thompson today announced he is seeking the Progressive Conservative nomination for District 8, Stanhope-Marshfield.

A third generation dairy farmer, Thompson says he is seeking the nomination “because I want to do my part to help build a better future for families like mine. We need to give our children the best possible foundation for a bright future and to do that we need new ideas, common sense and hard work to get us on the right path.”

Thompson is owner and operator of the family dairy farm, Eastside Holsteins, which also sells dairy cattle breeding stock to local, national and international markets.  He is a graduate of both Charlottetown Rural High School and Dalhousie Agricultural College. “Operating a dairy farm and developing business opportunities around the world requires a commitment to quality and building relationships based on honesty, fairness and hard work.  I hope to put the skills I have gained from that experience to work for the residents of Stanhope-Marshfield and PEI.”

Thompson has a demonstrated record of community service. He is active as a coach in the Sherwood/Parkdale Minor Baseball Association, served as Vice President of Old Home Week and as a board member of the Dairy Farmers of PEI.  He serves as an Elder in the York-Covehead United pastoral charge.

Thompson says the PC Party is building a talented team that will offer the leadership necessary to improve the quality of life for all Islanders. “When I coach minor baseball, I stress the importance of a strong team, not only to have success in sports but in life. I want to be part of the Dennis King team which will bring a fresh approach and new ideas to the challenges we face as a province.”

Thompson and his wife Terri are the proud parents of three children Alyson, Jenell, and & Taylor.
